30 Favorite People on Twitter

I felt really honored when my name with my twitter handle ( humorcarbons ) landed up in the list of “30 Favorite People on Twitter”.

To see the list you have to visit a blog titled “Confessions Of A Graphic Designer” which is authored by a wonderful person none other than Terri Nakamura. The blog post was posted on May 20, 2012.

By profession, Terri is an award winning graphic designer. But, what I like about her, is her excellent sense of humor which is quite often reflected in her blogs and tweets. The title line on the top of her blog says, “I’ M A GRAPHIC DESIGNER WHO LOVES WORDS”.

Terri has a lively personality, despite being diagnosed with breast cancer back in 2005. I strongly believe, it is her sense of humor that has helped her cope with the disease. With a strong following of over 17,000 followers on twitter, Terri herself is one of the favorite person on twitter.

At the end of her recent blog post 30 Favorite People on Twitter, she says, “I’ve often heard it’s good to talk with people with large followings, as it benefits one’s Klout and Kred scores. But the friends listed, whether on- or off-line, are well worth getting to know for the enrichment you experience through your interactions with them.”

I strongly urge all of you to visit this list and make new connections not only with Terri but also with those who are listed there.

“I like people who are funny and smart. Kindness is good, too.” ~Terri Nakamura

  1. Woo! Mateen this is great recognition. We also met via social media and became friends. The power of social media is unbelievable. I have been blogging for over 5 years now (2 years more seriously) and my network is growing all the time. I believe Network is equal to Net worth.

  2. Mateen, you are so kind. Thank you for this wonderful extension of the original blog post. It’s terrific reminder to all the folks out there who are shouting “FollowFriday” without actually meeting anyone! This is a great chance to connect with some terrific, genuine people.

I’m so happy our paths crossed. Every day I’m reminded of how amazing are the times in which we are so fortunate to live!

    (((HUGS))) Terri

    • Thank you for your excellent comments. I believe, Social Media is a hi-tech version of an old concept “pen friendship” where people maintained friendships, at local and international level, through exchange of letters, post cards etc. The difference: its much quicker and on real time basis now.

Looking forward to more interactions :)
