On 14^th May 2013, I had the privilege to be the guest speaker at the Institute of Professional Psychology, Bahria University Karachi.  The topic for my keynote session was “Role of Humor in Stress Management”. 

 I don’t know about others but it sure worked for me in controlling my own stress on the presentation day.

Keeping students and faculty members attentive and that too of psychology is a herculean task. But Alhamdolillah, my two hour presentation sailed smoothly with lots of smiles and laughters .

Thanks to students for liking and enjoying the session. I hope students will put humor to work in their own lives not only at times of stress but also during their happy moments. Your smiling faces really made my day.

 I am thankful to Dr. Zainab F. Zadeh, Director Institute of Professional Psychology (IPP), Dr. Khalida Shafi, Professor IPP and Ms. Gul-e-Zehra Abbas, Assistant Professor, IPP for giving me an opportunity to come and share my thoughts on the relationship of Humor and Stress.

There may not be too much humor in wisdom but there is too much wisdom in humor or rather wisdumbs. I couldn’t resist the temptation to talk about 101 Wisdumbs and therefore i also grabbed the opportunity to present my recently launched book 101Wisdumbs

The response to the pre-launch of my first book 101Wisdumbs was “overwhelming”.

101 Wisdumbs is a pocket book in which I have unraveled my own wisdumbs on bosses, wives, success, social media, meetings and life in general. InshaAllah it will be available soon in the market. During the pre-launch phase, I met three important personalities namely Hammad Siddiqui, Sarfaraz Rehman and Mansoor Soomro. Though I wanted to meet more but I ran short of the initial copies of 101Wisdumbs.All three of them shared valuable insights with me on how to market and promote 101Wisdumbs. I am grateful to all three of them.

Hammad took the lead and he not only tweeted himself in spreading the word about 101Wisdumbs on twitter but also promoted it on his Facebook and Linkedin page. Gratitude Hammad

Presenting Urdu poems in an interactive and a highly graphic form is really a novelty not only for our young nursery going kids but also for parents like myself. The app creates an engaging/fun learning environment which is quite conducive in learning new things.

ToffeeTV is also doing a wonderful work on similar lines in promoting urdu language through story animations, songs and fun filled activities. The initiatives taken by ToffeeTV and JugnooMedia represent a paradigm shift that has started taking place in our local educational market.

Along with ToffeeTV, JugnooMedia is the latest Jugnoo all set to provide engaging content based on local languages, themes, heroes, stories, traditions and context.

I always wanted to be an intellectual nerd and i told the same to the Almighty. But than i read this “if you want to make God laugh, tell Him your plans“. It was too late for me as i ended up being a total opposite of what i wanted. Obviously He laughed at my plans too. I ended up becoming a humorist.

Instead of becoming a microscopic source of Wisdom, God gave me an edge in churning out Wisdumbs and that too in english. And a whole lot of them. I just completed my first century in wisdumbs.

And so i decided to write my first book titled, “101 Wisdumbs”.

But that is not all. These two highly creative and innovative ladies along with their team  Hira Ilyas Bawahab and Hamza Lari  also conduct live story-telling, cooking, singing and activity sessions at T2F on alternate Sundays and also visit various schools and clubs to share happiness and smiles with kids.

I along with my kids have been attending their fun filled and smiling sessions at T2F since last year. You can gauge the success of the toffeetv sessions by the fact that recently celebrities like Sania Saeed, Marina Khan and Arshad Mehmood graced the sessions separately. The reason I love the show is seeing so many smiling faces of children and their parents.

On 20 January 2013, another all time favorite celebrity Bushra Ansari attended the full session. As a chief guest she thrilled the audience by playing some of her favorite roles from the past like Sharmilee and Bijli. She also sang aik do teen, babay bodhay ki machine and dedicated it to her grandson Hadi who was also present there.
